      • Being trapped in the wrong body
      • Characterised by strong, persistent feelings of identity with opposite gender and discomfort with ones own assigned sex.
      • Desire to live as members of opposite sex.
      • Recognised as psychological disorder in DSM-5.
    • Affects males and females, MtF outnumber FtM by about 5 - 1.
    • Since 2000, 865 gender reassignment surgeries been performed by NHS.
