    • Discrimination
      • The unjust or predicial treatment of different categories of people- especially on the grounds of age, race, sex, ethnicity etc.
      • Types of discrimination
        • Disability Discrimination
          • This is when you are treated less well or put at a disadvantage for a reason that relates to  your disability in one of the situations that are covered by the Equality Act.
        • Sexism
        • Ageism
          • is stereotyping and discrimination against  individuals or groups on the basis of their age
        • Racism
          • is generally defined as actions, practices or beliefs, or social or political systems that are based in view that sees the human species to be divided into races with shared traits, abilities or qualities
        • Direct discrimination
          • obvious unfair treatment shows prejudice, intentional and open manner because of their race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, age, class or disability.
        • Indirect discrimination
          • Less obvious, more subtle, sometimes unintentional because the individual has been given the situation sufficient thought, occurs when a condition is made that is harder for one group to meet another.

        • The people who first influence a child, i.e. parents.
        • Primary Socialization occurs when a child learns the attitudes, values and actions appropriate to individuals as members of a particular culture
