        • Infants (as young as 3 weeks old) would imitate facial expressions and hand gestures- involves imitation.
          • An adult displayed one of three facial expressions, a dummy was in the babies mouth to prevent response, dummy was removed and baby responded. Hand movements involved opening and closing the hand.
