- Assessing Internal Validity
- Face
validity
- Where a behaviour appears at first sight to represent what is being measured.
- Determined by the researcher by 'eye-balling' the test or measure or by passing it on to an expert to check.
- Concurrent Validity
- Where performance on one measure correlates highly with performance on another measure of the same variable, recognised + well-established test.
- Using Spearman's Rho or Pearson's r to analyse the data, a strong positive correlation (+.80) suggests that the new test has high concurrent validity.
