    • Obsolete - when a word has gone beyond its archaic usage and is 'dead'. It is not used at all anymore, and is not found in contemporary dictionaries
      • 'rushbuckler' was a Tudor name for a rough young man
    • Archaic - when a word has fallen out of common usage. it is seen as old fashioned, but may be present in some dictionaries
      • 'habited' means 'dressed' and 'hark' means 'listen'
