    • Trait Theories
      • States that an individual is made up of lots of traits that make that person individual
        • A trait can be thought of as a relatively stable characteristic that causes individuals to behave in certain ways.
      • The trait approach focuses upon differences between individuals
      • Traits combine to makeup a persons personality

    • Psycho-dynamic approach
      • Behaviours and feelings are powerfully affected by unconscious motives
      • Made up of 3 parts: ID, Ego and Super Ego
        • The ID and Super ego are part of the unconscious mind.

            • The Ego makes the the conscious mind
            • Anxiety

    • Situational Approach
      • Situation influences individuals personality traits.
        • Personality doesn't completely change, but may differ for different situations.
        • Personality cannot be judged through observation
      • Some situations have more influence than others
    • Interactional Approach
      • Considers psychological traits and situational influences on persoality
        • psycholoical traits and environmental influences interact and mix in unique ways to sculpt your behavior.
    • Phenomeno-logical
      • Authentic experiences of ones self is the basic component of growth.
  • People are inclined towards goodness, love and creativity
    • Primary drive to fulfil ones potential.
