- If something was stolen they would cut the thief's nose or hand off
- Only rich people had an education
- They came from Germany and came to settle in England
- Many kingdoms were ruled by kings
- They lived in tiny little settlements with thatched roofs
- Women were very low down in society and were expected to cook and stay at home and clean for the family, look after the children
- Earlier they were pagans but most of them are Christians
- Money would be paid to the husband/wife or relative to the person who has been hurt for example you chop someones wife's hand of you pay 200 pounds to the husband
