    • EPOC: ( Oxygen Debt)
      • Anaerobic Exercise
        • Body runs out of sufficient supplies of oxygen
          • Glycogen stores are used as an alternative energy supplies of oxygen
          • Oxygen Debt is the additional oxygen consumption during recovery above what is usually required when at rest.
      • Lactic Acid builds up in working muscles
    • Recovery Process:
      • Cool Down- Allow lactic acid to leave body safely & maintain elevated breathing rate
      • Manipulation of Diet: Rehydrating & taking in carbohydrates as an additional energy source
        • Ice baths/ Massage - Prevent Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness ( DOMS) Massage- Helps to increase blood flow to sore area
      • Short term Effects
        • Nausea
          • Aching & DOMS
            • Light headiness
          • Cramps
    • Immediate Effects :
      • Feeling hot
        • Increased levels of sweating & perspiring
          • Increase in both depth & frequency of breathing
      • Long Term Effects
        • Body shape may change - Losing weight
          • Improved speed & stamina
          • Increase in the size of the heart- Hypertrophy
