    • 79% Nitrogen
      • Combines with hydrogen to make ammonia (NH3)
      • Forms the basis of all plant fertilisers
      • Used to preserve food  - bacteria cannot survive in it - or preserve cells (ie. liquid nitrogen)
    • 20% Oxygen
      • Besides breathing, can be used in medical breathing apparatus, incubators, and in welding.
    • 1% Argon
      • Double glazing (the gas between the glass sheets)
      • Can be used in welding iron/steel to prevent rusting
      • Helps in lighting as it is unreactive and produces colour when electrolysed.
    • 0,04% CO2
      • Fire extinguishers and fizzy drinks
