  • Aerobic Fitness
    • Aerobic fitness s the bodies ability to take in oxygen and transport it around the cells
    • it is measured through VO2 max - maximum amount of oxygen that can be taken in at any one time by the lungs (ml/kg/min)
      • volume of oxygen divided by the weight = vo2 max
    • it is transported by the oxygen being breathed in - goes to the trachea - absorbed by capillaries which travels to the lungs then to the heart and around the body back to the heart and then is repeated
    • it is used for the oxygen in the cells to be used as respiration to make energy
      • Glucose + Oxygen = carbon dioxide + water = energy
