  • ADAPTATIONS
    • An adaptation is a change by which a species becomes better suited to its environment.
    • Anatomical adaptations
      • This is a change in the physical features of an organism.
      • E.g. Sharks, dolphins and penguins have streamlined bodies, making them more efficient at catching food and escaping predators.
    • Physiological adaptations.
      • These are changes which permit the organism to perform specific functions.
      • E.g. the ability to make venom.
    • Behavioural adaptations.
      • These are changes to a species pattern of action to better suit its environment.
      • E.g. A peacock displays its tail as a mating ritual.
