    • Co-transport in ileum
      • 1) Glucose absorbed into blood stream in small intestine
      • 2) Concentration to low for glucose to diffuse out in ileum. Glucose absorbed from lumen
      • 3: Na ions actively transported out of epithelium cells into blood by sodium-potassium pump. Creates a conc grad- higher conc Na ions in lumen than inside cell
      • 4) Na ions diffuse into epithelial cell down their conc grad. Via sodium-glucose co-transporter proteins
      • 5) Co transporter carries glucose into cell. Conc of glucose inside cell increases
      • 6) Glucose diffuses out of cell into blood down conc grad through protein channel by FD
    • Endocytosis
      • Segment of CSM surrounds particle and brings it into cell
      • Requires ATP
    • Exocytosis
      • Vesicle containing large molecule fuses with CSM and releases molecule
      • Requires ATP
