- HEATWAVE The UK's highest ever temperature of 38.5 degrees was recorded in Kent. Over 2000 people died due to the heat, some roads melted and railway tracks buckled.
- FLOODS Summer floods in Hull, Sheffield and Gloucestershire left people homeless. People also died.

- FLOODS In the south-west and north east of England, several severe floods happened. Somerset, Worcestershire and Northumberland were particularly bad.

- HEAVY SNOW 20cm of snow fell in London. The south-west and south-east of England were also affected.

- FLOODS Cockermouth, in Cumbria, was devastated by floods. Record rainfall amounts fell in November in the Lake District.
