      • Marks end of a human life on earth and reminder of the hope of an afterlife with God

        • Bible Readings - focus on prospect of eternal life
        • Prayers - asking God to support people in grief
        • Eulogy - talk/speech when person's life is remembered
        • Minister remind congregation of C beliefs about life after death
      • RCC - Requiem Mass almost always performed
      • Eastern/Greek Orthodox - requiem is fullest form of service (max 3.5hrs) inc readings hymns liturgy
      • Graveside = further prayers before committal statement - commit person to God's care

      • Use of premises for work with kids, elderly
      • Run voluntary events
      • Role of priest/minister involves visiting the sick
      • C may be involved with local charities - put J's message into practice
    • Rite of Passage - a ceremony that marks the transition from one phase of life to another
      • Has a spiritual importance as believe God is involved in their lives and through these ceremonies,
      • Demonstrates obedience to God
