Hi, now, the reason you're reading this is that you want to learn how to revise effectively, if so then read on!
i'm a pupil in wales in year 11. last year (year 10) i didnt do too well in my GCSEs (mostly D's and C's) but then i attended a revision course over the summer holidays to get myself sorted and what they taught me completely changed me acedemically. i resat my exams from last year in November/December as well as my mock exams, and the lowest grade i got was a C. i also got 4A*s, 3A's and 4b's. all of this was thanks to the techniques and tips im about to tell you now.......
firstly, when revising, as tempting as it is, dont have your phone by you. this is largely because you will get largely distracted with texts, facebook etc. also, even if someone hasn't text you, the likely hood is that youu will check your phone to see if they have (which you know they havent) so you go and text them to make sure that they dont text you, which then develops into a converstaion that completely distracts you from revision.
so no phones, ipods, ipads etc.
secondly, breaks. try to revise for 20 minutes with a 5 minute (Not 50!) break, then start revising again. remember, a break doesnt have to be playing on the xbox or straightening your hair, or texting/phoning freinds. a break is simply something to take your mind off revision for a bit so that when you start revising again, your brain is focused/interested again, it can even be as simple as doing hand games. for example…
